Holiday Success!
Things were different this year
As always, we were grateful to help everyone who came through the door. We could not have done it without all of you. Every person that came in to shop received food, gifts and prayer.
The holidays can be a real downer for some families living in poverty.
I know they left here much better than when they came. They did not have to stress about how to provide Christmas to their children.
Mission Malawi
Many people have been asking about our trip. We want to share all of it with you.
We were very blessed to travel to Malawi and make an impact on the people living in the most horrendous poverty. We have many pictures and videos of our time there. We kept a journal of everything we did so we would be able to share it with you. Please join us at our office on February 17th at 6pm. We will share all about our time there and what’s next. Let’s make this a potluck. Bring a dish to share. 2425 Bowland Pkwy in Virginia Beach, Suite 108.
Superbowl Party
Let’s watch together!
Superbowl is an exciting time to come together for fellowship. We will be having a Superbowl Party at the office in Virginia Beach. Let’s make this a chili cook-off with all the fixin’s. We will have games and prizes for the best chili in several categories.
Time- 6pm at 2425 Bowland Pkwy in Suite 108
Come on out and try to take the prize for the best chili. We love tasting and sharing. This is a true fellowship where we see some people become instant prayer warriors praying for their team to win.

New Year, New Changes
We are always trying to improve so please be patient as we try different layouts and formats for the New Year.
Next month we will have all our stats for the year of 2019 so you can see everything that you have been a part of. We get excited and renewed when we start to see all the different numbers in all the different ministries. This gives us the extra little boost for the New Year.
As always, we are trying to be better stewards of the finances and assets of Outreach. We are also always trying to find ways to streamline and better manage our time. With the New Year here and John Tirey retiring, we are trying some new bookkeeping and data keeping software. Please be patient with us as this may sometimes cause delays until we become proficient.
We encourage you to think about last year and determine what worked really well. Definitely continue those things. Also think about areas in your life that may need a little tweak or improvement. Now is a good time as any to start something new. Let’s see how we can work smarter and not harder. There is always room for improvement. If the good Lord has you here, you can believe there is a reason. So, whatever He has entrusted to you, choose to be the very best steward of it. Determine in your heart that you will finish it well.
We also encourage you to make sure to find some joy in every day. We are making a commitment to do the same. Take a little time to encourage others. Kind words can help so much in difficult seasons. You never know. You may just make someone’s day and help them to push through a hard time too.
God bless you always,
John and Tammy Savola

- While we were in Malawi, we found out John’s brother has stage four pancreatic cancer. We are his primary caregivers as he lives in our program. This has been a difficult adjustment for our family and the program as we make some changes to allow for his full-time care. Please pray that we will help him to enjoy every day we have and that the Lord will be merciful to him. Also pray for renewed strength for us as we are learning a lot in this new season.
- We also are adjusting to a new season of being Army Mom & Dad. Bradley and Brodie joined the Army earlier this year and we are learning how to go long periods of time without contact. We are walking out a new level of faith.
- We are taking time early this year to pray and spend time alone with the Lord to determine this year’s course of action. Please pray that we will continue to do only what the Lord has for us to do.
- Please pray for us to have wisdom as we are making many changes over this New Year.
- John Tirey has decided to actually be retired for once in his life. He stepped down from our Board of Directors and he is also stepping down as our bookkeeper at the end of this Tax Preparation. Please pray for him and Brenda to be able to enjoy retirement and for God to bless them richly in this new season. Please pray for us as well as he has been our go-to guy for everything. Every time we had a problem, he had a solution. Lord, please help fill this huge gap.
- Pray for the Lord to anoint us in picking up the slack. Also pray for us to make good choices in updating software and such to be more user friendly.
