· We are working hard at Outreach and staying busy. Some days feel like there are not quite enough hours or workers to accomplish the many things needed. We are thankful for the new volunteers. What a blessing to have people come in to hold down the fort while we are out in the community.
· There have been many opportunities lately for us to partner with some amazing programs. We are overwhelmed by the love and compassion of other ministries. They literally come alongside us and help us to better help the community.
· We were blessed by the amount of donations that came in this last month. We received hats, scarves and toiletry items for the blessing bags. That is such a help. It saves us ministry dollars that can go towards something else.
· We are still in need of furniture, clothing items, towels, washcloths and sheets. We are also in need of at least one 15 passenger van. There is nothing more heart breaking than telling someone who desperately wants to go to church, that we don’t have any space for them in the vehicles we currently have.
· There is also a need of used car donations. We have guys working towards getting their licenses restored. It is an awesome help when we can give them a reliable vehicle for a very reasonable, affordable price. London Bridge Motors helps us out with getting them road ready.
· When our people, especially the men, get out of jail, they are already in serious debt. We have people who will train them in money management and help them become debt free. They teach them how to save money and they even match their savings dollar for dollar up to $150. This goes a long way in helping them pay off court costs and fines. A lot of times, they are in debt to child support and it is overwhelming unless they get tied into a good solid support system.
· We have a program that will give a bond letter to felons seeking jobs. There is also a new tax credit of $2500 for a company who will hire recently released felons.
· There is also a program we can take our guys to where they learn how to be a dad. They are given Christian values and anger management so they can approach parenting different than the wrong examples they have been given. We can assure you that the testimonies of the guys completing this program will bring tears to everyone’s eyes.
· There is truly hope for these individuals to have a fresh start at a brand new life in Christ Jesus. We are watching God transform them right before our very eyes. There is nothing more awesome than that!
· We are thankful that we were called and chosen to be in this position. This is the most amazing life anyone could ever live. We literally get to spend our every day serving God. Thank you for making this possible. Without you, we would not be here.
· There is such urgency right now in our hearts. We pray that you are seeing the momentum. We are asking for you to seriously consider an increase in your giving this month especially. If you haven’t given in a while, we are asking that you get in the action right now. Amazing things are happening and we want all of you to be able to look back and say “I was part of making that happen!” If God is stirring your heart, act on it.
· We cannot wait to have our open house to show you the future of Outreach. We will be open to having people come in and teach Bible Studies and love on these precious people.
· The people that seem the hardest are the ones that end up with the most amazing testimonies. These people have survived what some others have not. We cannot wait to share the testimonies in future newsletters.
· We are so close to opening the Wayne Skinner Legacy House of Discipleship for Men. The biggest need we have right now is the funding for the Ann Skinner Legacy House of Discipleship for Women.
Hebrews 13:3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
